Database and Research Links we use at school and that you may use at home:

The usernames and passwords for the following four resources have been published in the school newsletter Woodlands Table Talk. If you need them again, please see the librarian or library clerk for the username and password.

Electric Library: You may use this database from home. It is useful for elementary students.

Proquest: You may use this magazine, newspaper, and other periodical database from home. It is probably more useful for older students and/or parents.

Culture Grams: You can learn about states and countries. There is a kids' edition too that will be useful for younger children.
The maps are excellent in this resource.

World Book Online Edition: You can research topics of interest in this online encyclopedia. The online edition is identical to the print edition.

The following resources take you out onto the open web. Remember to use your common sense and internet safety. You should always have your parents' permission before using online resources and you should never share private or personal information with others on the web.

Kitsap Regional LibraryYou may use this from home or school. If you have a Kitsap Regional Library card, you can even reserve and hold books from their on-line catalog. This is an excellent way to get books that are not in our collection. They have many of the contest books available and often have more than one copy!

Live Homework Help is available through the Kitsap Regional Library website.  You can connect to a real tutor via the computer to get assistance with your  assignments or homework.

While you're at it, get yourself a Kitsap Regional Library (KRL) card. Information about KRL library cards is available here.

KidsClick!

KidsClick! is an awesome research tool.  It was organized by librarians for kids and makes a lot of sense.  You'll learn neat things when you use this site for searching.

Kids

Ask for Kids is a search engine that is organized in a question/answer format.

The Information Please Almanac is available online.
